Many years of my family going to the state fair. So many great memories. Scary rides. The food is great. The concerts are amazing. The shows are fun and the people are so cool to meet. Last year we went to see a concert 1st in over 10yrs for me. And I had a blast.

Fun way to wrap up the summer. Food, fun, art, and culture. Take the train (scenic) from Anchorage to avoid the traffic nightmare.

Everyone was beyond friendly & helpful from ticket takers to the people showing you where to park. Even as we were leaving several attendants in the lot asked if we had fun and said thanks. Well put together State Fair that made my return to it after 30 some years VERY memorable. I love the Ohio State Fair but the Alaska State had a better atmosphere IMHO and seemed much more relaxing. Even after walking it for 12 hours!! Lots to see, eat, and do!!

The largest fair in the state. The midway is as large as many Alaskan towns--larger than some! When the fair is on, prepare for traffic headaches on the Old Glenn Highway.

Same old, except worse. They add extra fees every year and my favorite booths (mini golf, hand drawn portrait) are no longer there. Save yourself the money, really.
