Art Market San Francisco is now San Francisco Art Fair. This evolution is a direct affirmation of the fair’s commitment to the thriving arts ecosystem that defines the Bay Area. Continuing the fair’s dedication to San Francisco’s vibrant cultural institutions, active collecting community, and vital notion of unwavering patronage, San Francisco Art Fair is a year-round platform for the many voices of its region.

1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: San Francisco Arts Today

As national news outlets report on San Francisco’s “doom loop,” the art scene clearly didn’t get the memo. The Bay Area arts leaders in this panel discussion showcase how they are activating the vibrant arts community in the City by the Bay. Hear from institutions that have invested directly in local artists, including Timothy Anglin Burgard, Distinguished Senior Curator at Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco (de Young Open), Shana Lopes, Assistant Curator of Photography at San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SECA Art Award), and Key Jo Lee, Chief of Curatorial Affairs and Public Programs, Museum of the African Diaspora (Emerging Artists Program) in a conversation that will be moderated by the San Francisco Examiner’s art critic, Max Blue.

2:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Sewers, Trash & Climate: Practicing the Art of Change

Join us to learn how the City of San Jose is leveraging the power of arts and culture to support environmental awareness. The City of San Jose Office of Economic Development and Cultural Affairs present a range of public art projects and other collaborative initiatives, including: FOGWASTE presented by artist Brett Snyder, One Day/One Action, presented by artist Trena Noval,  LITTER-ATURE, led by Sr. Project Manager Mary Rubin and co-created by local creatives, and the newly launched Climate Art program with Cultural Strategist in Environmental Resilience Devon Bella. This exciting event will be facilitated by San Jose Sr. Arts Manager Danielle Siembieda.
