Cattlemen's Day

Welcome back this amazing event!!
Celebrate Ranching Heritage at Cattlemen's Day - Glenn County Fair

We're thrilled to announce the return of the award-winning Cattlemen's Day at the Glenn County Fair. Before the world changed due to COVID, this event was a crowning achievement, clinching the first-place award at the Western Fairs Convention. This year, we're bringing it back with even more enthusiasm and a promise to recapture the spirit of the ranching community.

Cattlemen's Day is not just an event; it's a salute to the enduring ranching way of life. We invite everyone - ranchers, enthusiasts, families, and friends - to join us in the horse arena located in the South East corner of the fairgrounds. Witness the skill, determination, and passion that the participants exhibit.

What's New This Year?

Adding to the excitement, we're introducing a Youth Calf Scramble Event. It's an incredible opportunity for kids affiliated with 4-H, FFA, and the Grange to get hands-on experience in the cattle industry. Participants who catch a calf and fit it with a halter stand to win a scholarship towards a beef or dairy project for next year's fair. This new addition aims to inspire and educate our youth, offering them a tangible incentive to learn and grow within the ranching tradition.

Participate or Cheer On:

We encourage you to get involved, whether by participating in the events or supporting our local contestants from the sidelines. The day is packed with activities that celebrate our connection to the land and livestock, fostering a deeper appreciation for the hard work and dedication of our cattlemen and women.

For Our Future Ranchers:

Winning participants in the Youth Calf Scramble will be required to report on their project's progress, detailing how the sponsorship funds were utilized and the valuable lessons learned along the way. This accountability component ensures that the experience is not only rewarding but also educational.
